Sponsoring A Street Team

What is a street team?

A street team is an organized group of trained individuals (usual 5-6) whom represent Caring Pals USA.

Who is your typical street team member?

Street team members are courteous, compassionate and understanding team players. They are kind-hearted, respectful and typically wear a big smile. They enjoy meeting the people they come in contact with, promoting the causes they work for, and acknowledging the individual and/or business that sponsors their team. They are neat, well-groomed and health-conscious. They believe that any one person can make an important difference, and that working as a team can do even more. They take their job seriously, are always on-time, and take pride in being trustworthy, organized and dependable. They respect and work well with others and are selfless, dedicated and proud representatives of Caring Pals USA, the causes they work for, and the individual and/or business that sponsors their team.

What do street teams do?

Street team members engage the public in brief friendly discussions, providing information about local and national organizations helping kids in America, and facilitating a connection between any interested person and the organization(s) that person may wish to support. Street team members also provide information about Caring Pals USA and the team sponsor.

How do street teams do this?

Street team members carry small portfolios and printed materials with information about eligible organizations helping kids in America, Caring Pals USA and the team sponsor. Street team members are trained in thir presentation, and prepared to answer any questions a person may have. They generally work in pairs of two.

Where do street teams work?

Street teams work in a variety of locations throughout a particular city. Primary locations include city sidewalks in areas where there is both a good flow of passersby and plenty of space. Street team members may also work at malls, college campuses and event locations.

How effective are street teams?

Street team are highly effective and cost-effective. The charitable organizations utilizing both face-to-face fundraising (street teams) and television adverstisement, are finding that street team activities in any one major city alone are generally bringing in more donors than nationwide television spots. On average, just one street team member is worth more than fifteen hundred dollars a day to the charitable organization(s) promoted. Moreover, a friendly and charming street team member puts a real face on the cause (helping kids) and touches people who might otherwise not have come in contact with the opportunity to be supportive.

Do street teams work year-round?

Yes. A street team's effectiveness is not adversely affected by cold or hot weather.

Why do street teams need sponsors?

Sponsorship is the only source of funding for street teams, and pays the costs associated with formation of the team, including uniforms, training, registration & licensing fees, and printing.

What are the benefits of sponsoring a street team?

The primary benefit is the satisfaction of helping children in America (On average, the efforts of a 6-person street team working for just one week will result in more than thirty thousand dollars donated to organizations helping kids in America). Secondary benefits include (a) the opportunity to select the organizations (including local and national) that the street team promotes; (b) the oportunity to include your name and logo on the team's apparel; (c) the opportunity to include your name, logo, and a message in the materials team members provide to the public; (d) the opportunity to include advertising materials such as coupons in the package team members provide to the public ("Care Marketing"); (e) the opportunity to host and/or attend regular team meetings and community meet ups; and (e) access to the online team page and weekly reports.  Association with a children's charity has a proven positive effect on a business's customers.  Read More

What is "Care Marketing"?

Care Marketing is a highly-effective way to market your service, product, venue or event. Each member of your team not only engages the public in discussion regarding helping kids in America, but, also, acknowledges the support of your business, and provides promotional materials, such as coupons to attract people to what you are selling. Your sponsorship helps kids, and brings you the most cost-effective marketing available: simply hiring 6 regular flyer-persons to pass out promotional materials would, on average, cost you about one thousand eight hundred dollars a week (about 4 times the cost of team sponsorship), and will not get you the attention and good-name that Care Marketing provides.

How long is the term of sponsorship?

The typical initial term of sponsorship is two to three months.

How much does it cost to sponsor a team?

The start up cost to begin a team varies from city to city, but is typically about $3,500. for a team of six persons. (Because US Pals, dba Caring Pals USA is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, this amount may be deducted from the sponsor's taxes.) The on-going cost is $200. per month. If a sponsor chooses to include coupons and promotional materials in the packages provided by team members to the public, these materials must be provided by the sponsor.

Can one individual or business sponsor more than one street team?

Yes. You may sponsor up to four teams in any one city.

Who can sponsor a street team?

Any individual, group or business that is not associated with the sale or promotion of tobacco, pornography, and/or other products and services that may be deemed inappropriate.

In what cities can street teams be set up?

Street teams may be set up in any major United States city.

What are the responsibilities of a sponsor?

There are no legal responsibilities, nor are sponsors in any way responsible for the actions or inactions of a street team or team member. Sponsor's are encouraged to be involved to the extent they are able, including hosting and/or attending team and/or community meetings, reviewing team reports, and interacting with the media.

What is the process of sponsoring a street team?

The process is simple and fast: (a) the potential sponsor completes the online contact form and/or calls the Caring Pals office to indicate interest; (b) within 48 hours a Caring Pals representative will contact the potential sponsor to arrange a telephone conference, and to answer any questions the potential sponsor may have; (c) within 24 hours of the conference, an outline of the cost of sponsorship and a sponsor agreement are sent to the potential sponsor; and (d) within 48 hours of receipt of the signed agreement, team set up begins. The entire process - from initial contact to the day that the team starts activities - will take two to three weeks.

How can we begin the sponsorship process?

Simply visit the contact page at the Caring Pals website and/or call the Caring Pals office.
